I am learning to inform my audience by sharing an entertaining moment.
Have you ever had a food that was so bad you wanted to vomit it back up? Well I have and it is a boiled steamed egg. So I was five years old and I was at my grandma’s house playing hide and seek with my older cousins. Everything was fine until my grandma called everyone up to the table.
“Everyone, dinners ready!” called my grandma. As I started to get closer I could smell something fishy. I realised at this point that I was going to be the last to the table, while everyone was waiting for me, licking their lips waiting for what they thought was a delicious meal.
The fishy smell was so unbearable as I walked into the room, I wanted to run out of the house screaming to avoid the smell of that meal. Then suddenly it hit me just like lightning would hit people suddenly, the fishy smell was a boiled steamed egg not fish. I saw the not so attractive meal in front of me all watery and disgusting like vomit. I was unable to swallow it while everyone around me was enjoying their meal, gulping it down, the disgusting meal.
I know lots of people like boiled eggs and steamed eggs but the egg was a cracked egg whisked with a whisk then boiled on the stove and had chopped up with the extra bonus of fish in it, yucky! I don’t know how people like things like that, let alone actually eat it.
I knew I had an intolerance to egg so I said, “No way I am eating that.” As I sat there refusing any food from my plate, watching as they all continued to dive into their plate.
