We had our assembly today. It was about racism. We did a dance on our individuality. This is a picture of our assembly.

Marae Trip
This week on Wednesday, we went to a Marae. We went to the Unitec Marae. When we got there we learnt about the history of that Marae. It is exactly 10 years old! Then we had some morning tea. After a little run around we went back into the Marae to learn a Haka. When it was time to leave the Marae the year five and six boys performed a haka. I think we all enjoyed having the oppourtunity to go to a Marae and learn some Maori traditions.

Maths Week
This week is Maths Week. During the week we did lots of fun maths games and my favourite was called the maths chaser. The maths chaser is a game where you have to answer questions and get down a ladder before the chaser does. One website we used during the week was mathsweek.co.nz. I really enjoyed maths week this year.

Maori Art
At the end of last term we learned about Peter Gossage. He is a New Zealand artist and author and we used his drawing style to create our own Māori art. We began by sketching our drawings out on A3 paper, then we went over our design in sharpie. To add some colour to our art, we coloured our drawings with pastels. After this we dyed the background any colour we wanted and I chose black. This is my Māori art.

Cook Island Week
This week is Cook Island week. To celebrate our cultural leaders taugh us this song called 'God Loves Me.' We are also learning cook island myths, how to count to ten and some fun facts. This is our Cook Island wall.
Ocean Posters
This term we did a google draw poster on an ocean of our choice. I chose the Atlantic Ocean. We had to find out where it was located, the size, the oceans deepest point and five sea animals located there. This is my google draw poster.
